Walker River Resort Hunting Preserve

Rules & Regulations

 

  1. Safe gun handling & hunter safety must be strictly adhered to!  No loaded guns in vehicles, parking areas, or buildings.  Blaze orange hat or vest required.

  1. Hunting Season: Opens October 3rd, 2008 a Friday, and ends March 2nd, 2009 a Monday.  Hunting Days will be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  Monday is carryover hunting only.  No birds will be released.

  1. There are 2 scheduled hunts: The morning hunt is from to .  Afternoon hunt is from to .

  1. Each member must kill 50% of his birds by December 15th to prevent overcrowding at the end of the season.  Anything less than 50% may be forfeited.

  1. Any birds not hunted or killed by the end of the hunting season will be forfeited. No birds will be carried over to the next season.

  1. No member shall give or sell his/her birds to another member or guest.

  1. No hunters or dogs are allowed in or near bird pens. No dogs running loose in parking areas. Please air dogs in designated areas.

  1. Uncontrolled dogs will not be permitted in the fields and must be confined prior to and after hunting.

  1. Any bird caught by a member’s or his/her guest’s dog will be considered a shot bird and charged for unless the bird is obviously wounded or injured by another hunter.

  1. Any person shooting any bird and not claiming it shall forfeit his membership without refund.

  1. All vehicles MUST park in designated parking areas.  All vehicles MUST stay on designated roads with no exceptions. No off-road use for ATV’s!

  1. All hunting parties must check-in at the Walker River Resort Clubhouse prior to hunting and check-out after hunting to obtain transportation permits and insure that all data is recorded for the Department of Wildlife.

  1. All guests must hunt with a member.  Each member is responsible for his or her guest. Any violation of a rule by a guest could result in the revocation of membership without refund.

  1. NO one under 18 years of age is allowed in the field unless accompanied by an adult.

  1. Drinking of alcohol will not be permitted prior to or while hunting.  Anyone appearing intoxicated will not be allowed to hunt.

  1. Hunting preserve boundaries must be known and adhered to.  Hunting is not permitted on the Resort RV side of the river!

  1. Please note: reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.  Cancellations must be made at least 12 hours prior to hunting.

  1. MINIMUM release per field for members is 4 Chukar or 3 Pheasant.  For day hunters, the MINIMUM release per field is 6 Chukar or 4 Pheasant.

  1. Walker River Resort reserves the right to modify or adjust these rules & regulation at their discretion.
