To Our Bird Hunters:

Walker River Resort is looking forward to offering you pheasant and chukar hunting this coming fall and winter.  Thank you for your past patronage and expressing your continued interest in the Resort’s hunting program.  Crisp cool mornings are in our future and we are looking forward to it! 

Shane Gleason will be the Resort’s hunt manager.  Many of you may remember Shane from last hunting season and he is also the Resort’s Sporting Clays manager.  His phone number is (775) 465-2239 if you would like to contact him.  Shane will be assisted by Bryon, Tim and Bob Savage all of whom worked for the Resort last season.  They will be assisted by Resort staff.  Several qualified guides will also be available for private bookings.

We will open the hunting season October 16^th, a Friday.  The season continues through March 1^st, 2010.  Hunting will be available Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.  Carry-over hunting for members will be offered on Mondays, but no birds will be released nor will we have staff available for bird cleaning.  From time to time, if you desire a special hunt day, please give us a call as we may be able to arrange a day outside of the normal schedule.

Please make your reservations for hunting on the Thanksgiving holiday weekend by Wednesday, November 25^th, 2009 and reservations for hunting on the Christmas holiday weekend by Wednesday, December 23^rd, 2009.  We will be closed Christmas Eve, December 24^th, and Christmas Day, December 25^th.  Hunting will be available on Superbowl Sunday, February 7^th for morning hunts only.  All of our hunters are also welcome to join us for the Resort’s Superbowl Party!

Our bird brochure is included in this letter. If you would like to purchase a bird membership, please detach the form and return it to the Resort with your payment.  Each member will receive two free birds if you purchase a bird membership by September 28, 2009.  Members purchasing larger cards will receive more free birds. 

Reservations may also be made for “Walker River Resort Hunt Specials” throughout the hunting season.  Please make your day hunt reservations as soon as possible especially if you would like to hunt towards the end of the season as bird availability can be limited.
